RESOURCES

  • A Gathering of Tribes is a NYC based nonprofit arts organization providing a platform for diverse, traditionally under-represented artists and writers, amplifying the emerging and established revolutionary voices of our time.

A Gathering of Tribes is TMA’s fiscal sponsor.

  • Southern Poverty Law Center ‘Whose Heritage?’ This map lists monuments and statues to the Confederacy in the United States of America with data, resources and information on monuments that are still standing.

  • Monument Lab is a nonprofit public art and history studio based in Philadelphia. Monument Lab works with artists, students, educators, activists, municipal agencies, and cultural institutions on participatory approaches to public engagement and collective memory.

  • La Galeria des Racistas is a collaborative project from the 'Teresa de Benguela' collective of Black historians, an anti-racist website named 'Notícia Preta' and a collective of Black advertisers. The project is the result of extensive research on Brazilian monuments that tribute slave figures who have committed various crimes against humanity. The project aims to expose the true history of the pro-slavery monuments in Brazil.

  • This second iteration of “All Monuments Must Fall” adds materials that describe, enumerate and analyze the 2020 Black-led uprisings in relation to monuments and memorials. It is a transitional tool to help learn how to reconfigure and recalibrate collective relations to the past and how to imagine different futures that are not predicated by the plantation.
